The Chippewa River Chiefs got a sterling performance from pitcher Dan Schmus, but the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws still prevailed, 6-5. Schmus threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball. Donzel Albertrani picked up the save for West Virginia, his 16th of the year. The win puts the Dancin' Outlaws at 54-36, while the River Chiefs drop to 37-52.

West Virginia used a timely hit from Lorenzo Gonzales to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dancin' Outlaws ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

Gonzales told a West Virginia Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
