Blues Clip River Bandits, 3-2
|
The bats were silent much of the day at Dr Pepper Stadium. But 21-year old right fielder Matt Farmer produced just enough offense to carry the Blues past the San Antonio River Bandits, 3-2. Farmer was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. The Blues now own a record of 49-43.
Farmer had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-1 fastball from Rusty Campbell, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Blues a 3-2 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for Farmer.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Farmer.
