Mustangs Get One-Run Win at Chippewa
|
San Angelo beat Chippewa at The Reservation, eking out a 5-4 win. The triumph was primarily due to first baseman Jordan Soler. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Raul Rivera, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. Roberto Salinas recorded the save for San Angelo, his 1st of the season.
Had Soler not come through in the top of the ninth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Soler hit a run-scoring single. The Mustangs took the lead, 5-4, and never looked back.
"I was a little disappointed," said Chippewa manager Pang Yip. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The Mustangs move to 25-81 with the win.
