Campo beat Brownsville in a rain-soaked ballgame.
The Campo NoBos had to overcome a good performance from Brownsville pitcher Jake Testa to claim a 3-2 win at Bandits Grove. Testa went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. Joaquin Perez was the winner in relief. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was Edwin Diaz. George Bow recorded the save, his 8th.
Arturo de la Rosa had a direct impact on the outcome. de la Rosa contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Campo up, 3-2.
After the game, Campo manager Adrián Cortés applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
The NoBos improved their record to 44-63 with the win over Brownsville.
