Despite a fine performance by right fielder Miguel Rangel, the Charleston Panthers lost to the Victoria Vikings, 6-4. Rangel went 4 for 4 with 4 singles. Jose Huerta picked up the win, lifting his record to 11-5 on the season. He struck out 7 and walked 2 in 7 innings, while yielding 4 runs. The third-place Vikings are now 67-41, the Panthers 33-76.

Victoria took advantage of an error in the top of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 3-3, when Alex Corona hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Vikings in front, 4-3.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Corona said.
