With Late Score, Civics Beat Lake Monsters

At Elks Stadium, the Ottawa Civics edged the Okanagan Lake Monsters, 6-5, in 12 innings. Ottawa center fielder Sam Spurr, who jolted 2 home runs, was a key contributor. Ottawa pitcher Elias Gallegos got the win, upping his record to 3-3. Denis Pisa got the loss. With the victory, the Civics upped their record to 81-28.
Spurr had a game-changing home run in the top of the 12th. On a 1-0 sinker from Denis Pisa, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Civics a 6-5 lead. It was the 28th home run of the year for Spurr.
In postgame remarks, Spurr simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
