Taylor Drills 2 Homers in 4-2 Hazleton Win
|
The Hazleton Birdwings handed the San Antonio River Bandits a loss at Dr Pepper Stadium. The final score was 4-2. Major production was provided by Jesse Taylor for Hazleton. In addition to his 1 single and 2 home runs, he scored 2 runs and drove in 3. He also added 1 walk. The Birdwings, at 54-40, sit in first place in the RCL A Tommy Lasorda Division.
With Hazleton trailing 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Taylor hit a fastball from Francisco Pereda for a 2-run home run. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Birdwings ahead, 3-2.
Hazleton manager Roberto Flores was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
