Ortiz Helps Kingwood Cruise to 10-3 Win
|
The Kingwood Knights defeated the Charleston Panthers, 10-3, at Stable Park. Leading the charge for Kingwood was left fielder Armando Ortiz. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. The Knights bumped their record to 57-53 with this win.
With Kingwood trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Ortiz hit a sinker from Alex Zavala for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Knights ahead, 3-2.
"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Ortiz.
