Bush Wackers Win Streak Reaches 6
|
Bill Robies, who is tied for 7th in the RA in strikeouts with 116, imposed his will on the Warriors from the get-go. Relying mainly on his knuckleball, the left-hander spearheaded the 5-0 Brisbane triumph. Robies got the win, improving to 6-13. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Oscar Aviles was credited with the save for Brisbane, his 7th of the season.
Jean Mendes had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for Brisbane. With the bases loaded and the Bush Wackers leading 1-0, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Brisbane manager Tan Yue.
Brisbane's winning streak has reached 6 games.
