Eureka and Bloomington duked it out and the Hornets came out victorious.

Ed Cormack left his imprint on the 7-5 Eureka win against the Bloomington Blazers. Cormack, who finished 2nd in the TML in hits with 200 last year, was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. The winner was Sean Davis in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Erik McKnight took the loss.

Eureka used a timely hit from Robby Helt to get the win. The first baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hornets ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"It feels good, just a great win all around," Helt said after the game.

The Hornets have an impressive 38-22 record.
