Oconomowoc pitcher Mike Erpenbach had a large part in his team subduing the Carmel Apples, 4-1. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The save went to Jimmy Kennedy, number 8 for him. With the win, the Five O's have a record of 67-32.

Oconomowoc took a 2-1 lead on Angelo Becerra's 11th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Becerra hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Carmel pitcher Willis Paulino visibly frustrated.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Hi-yuan Pan.
