6-2 Win Gets Carmel to 58-57
|
Starting pitcher Juan Aldana had a solid game. He was a big reason the Carmel Apples throttled the Brownsville Bandits, 6-2. Juan Aldana picked up the win in relief for Carmel, while Alex Martinez took the loss. Carmel is now 58-57, while Brownsville is 55-59.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ruben Covarrubias? The Carmel second baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Apples on top, 1-0. For the game, Covarrubias had 1 double and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
"Juan was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Carmel manager Hi-yuan Pan.
