The Bel Air Princes knocked off the Houston Sting, 7-4, in RCL HA action at Woodland Park. Bel Air pitcher and Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, native Alfredo Valdez had an outstanding performance. In 5.1 innings, Valdez surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Rowland Lester recorded the save, his 7th.
It could have been a different outcome for Bel Air, had it not been for Jamie Boone, the 22-year old right fielder . Boone contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Bel Air up, 3-0.
"Not the sexiest win," said Princes manager Greg England, "but I'll take it."
