The Carmel Apples topped the San Angelo Mustangs, 10-3, at BLM Stadium. Carmel designated hitter Ben Aldridge was a spark plug for the offense. He slugged 2 home runs. He scored 4 times and drove in 2. The last-place Mustangs have dropped 4 straight games.

Gustavo Galicia had a big run-scoring double for the Apples in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Carmel leading 3-2 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Ernesto Luna and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Apples ahead, 4-2.

"We hit the ball on the barrel," said Carmel manager Hi-yuan Pan.
