The Mexico City Luchadores withstood a fine game by Hawaii shortstop Les Hutchinson at The Royal Grounds, to upend the Honu, 5-3. Hutchinson was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Dan Wallace closed the door for Mexico City, picking up his 13th save of the year. The 4th-place Luchadores are now 29-31, the Honu 31-30.

Mexico City took a 4-3 lead on Ghaysun Azizi's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Azizi hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Hawaii pitcher Chris Sweeney visibly frustrated.

Azizi called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
