Princes Snag 8-5 Win
|
West Virginia got a valiant performance from pitcher Phil Jackson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Bel Air Princes. Bel Air won the game, 8-5. Jackson threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. The winner was Ethan Campbell in relief. His record improves to 4-2. John Heyes took the loss. Josh Tibbetts, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 10th save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Chris Ferris? The Bel Air right fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Princes on top, 6-5. For the game, Ferris had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said West Virginia manager Guy de Kleijn.
The Princes saw their record improve to 57-46.
