Carmel got a terrific game from shortstop Ryan Schneck. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Houston, 9-4. Schneck went 2 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Jonathan Wilson. He's now 9-5. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 10 hits for the Sting. The Sting move to 54-67 with the win, while the Apples drop to 62-59.

Eric James had a big bases-clearing double for the Sting in the bottom of the third inning. With Houston leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Alberto Robles and swatted a double to center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sting ahead, 6-0.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said James.
