Despite a fine performance by right fielder Antonio Paiz, the Eagle Rock Ridge Runners lost to the Buffalo Bison, 5-3. Paiz was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. Brad Helmick, the winner, is now 1-2. He struck out 4 and walked 4 over 6.2 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 9 hits. Picking up his 11th save was fireballing left-hander Steve Hoefling.

The Bison got a big at-bat from left fielder Cliff Millar. For the game, Millar was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Buffalo a 3-0 lead.

Millar called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
