The St. Paul Saints topped the Ottawa Civics, 7-4, with youngster Tim Rasmussen playing a key role. Rasmussen was 3-5 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times for the Saints in the win. Chris Hill earned the save for St. Paul, his 27th of the year. The win puts the Saints at 52-73, while the Civics drop to 66-62.

Nate Sawyer had a big 2-run double for the Saints in the top of the first inning. With St. Paul leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a slider from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Wynn Backstrom and swatted a double to center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Saints ahead, 3-0.

"The key is not trying to do too much," said Rasmussen.
