The River Chiefs grabbed a win, 6-5, at The Reservation, overcoming a fine effort from Kingwood pitcher Joe McGinnity. McGinnity went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Chippewa pitcher Roberto Reyes earned the win, hiking his record to 6-3. Kenny Holloway suffered the loss. The River Chiefs raised their record to 43-66.

Josh Thomas was the walk-off hero for Chippewa. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the River Chiefs catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said River Chiefs manager Pang Yip. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
