Downbound Mustangs Lose 14th Straight
|
Another game, another loss for the struggling San Angelo Mustangs.
St. Paul picked up a win at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium, bumping off the San Angelo Mustangs, 3-2. Pitcher Mauricio Angel was a major reason the Saints emerged victorious. The win was credited to Andres Pabon in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Nathan Spargo took the loss.
St. Paul used the timely hitting of Jason Chard to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Saints on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Shoot," said losing manager Luis López, "I thought we might win one."
At 48-79, St. Paul is in 5th place in the TML HA Dick Williams Division.
