Charleston and Nichols got after it at The Pond.
The Charleston Panthers dealt the Nichols Gnats a 6-4 loss at The Pond. Yukio Yana, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2064 draft, was the star on offense. He went 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The last-place Panthers sport a record of 41-88.
Charleston used a well-timed hit by Oscar Salvador to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Panthers ahead, 6-4. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I felt good about my swing," said Yana.
