Hazleton ruined an otherwise fine effort from Leo Sanchez by toppling Houston, 5-4. The Houston pitcher came in in relief and pitched to 27 batters. The win went to Dave Mayo in relief. His record improves to 6-10. Danny Umanzor took the loss. Today's win puts Hazleton at 60-68, while Houston falls to 59-69.

Hazleton used a timely hit from Joey Wedemeier to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Birdwings ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Fun game," said Wedemeier, "even when the outcome was in doubt."
