Jonathan Johnson, who is tied for 5th in the RHA in complete games with 1, propelled his team to victory over the St. Petersburg Pelicans. The final score was 6-4, Carmel. The Apples saw their record improve to 66-66.

Carmel took a 5-4 lead on Paul Sachs's 2nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Sachs hit in the bottom of the eighth, left St. Petersburg pitcher Victor Martinez visibly frustrated.

"I got in a good groove," said Johnson. "I was getting some swings and misses."
