River Bandits Rebuff Apples, 4-2
|
San Antonio River Bandits starter Nolan Maughan turned in an exceptional performance against the Carmel Apples at BLM Stadium, resulting in a San Antonio win, 4-2. Rusty Campbell was credited with the save for San Antonio, his 24th of the season. San Antonio is now 67-47.
It could have been a different outcome for San Antonio, had it not been for Alfredo Cruz, the 20-year old third baseman . Cruz contributed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put San Antonio up, 3-1.
"I like what I saw today," said San Antonio manager Lemn Onkwani, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
