The Ottawa Civics downed the St. Paul Saints, 8-3. The hitting star was left fielder Danny Romero. Romero went 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Civics. Billy Regent snagged the win in relief. He goes to 4-2 on the season. Danny Quinonez suffered the loss. The first-place Civics have won 5 straight games.

Ottawa won the game in part because of Mario Casares. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Civics ahead, 2-1. For the game, Casares had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"We were able to put some runs on the board," said Casares after the game.
