The Houston Sting defeated the Brownsville Bandits, 13-3, at Bandits Grove. Todd Frank produced 2 singles and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Luis Lugo, the winning pitcher, is now 3-0. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 4.

Houston catcher Marty Noble contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a changeup to left-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 36th hit of the season and put the Sting ahead, 2-0.

Brownsville manager Izumo Ikarashi said: "We got ambushed. We just sashayed into the canyon and they were firing from both sides."

The Sting now have a record of 45-70 with the win over Brownsville.
