The West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws and Moonbeam Martians put on a pitchers' duel.
The West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws used a great performance from Sam Orton, who is tied for 3rd in the RHA in strikeouts with 206, to beat the Moonbeam Martians, 2-1, at The Rain Forest. Jose Sanabria earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 9-5.
Eddy Velasco aided the West Virginia cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman went 2-4 with a double.
In postgame remarks, Velasco applauded his team's "business-like approach."
West Virginia's record now stands at 73-65, placing them third in the RCL HA Dusty Baker Division.
