Knights Continue Skid, Thanks to Andrews, Gnats
|
Gene Andrews made an impact in the 5-4 Nichols win over Ocala. Andrews, who is tied for 3rd in the TA with a .617 slugging percentage, went 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Chad Stoppa earned the win. Mario Lemos took the loss for Ocala. The Knights, now 67-51, have lost 4 in a row.
Andrews had a timely hit for Nichols in the top of the sixth. With Nichols trailing 4-1, he turned a 1-0 fastball into a grand slam home run. It was his 21st home run of the season, making it 5-4, Nichols.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Ocala manager Alexis Coates.
