Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Sting
The Houston Sting had to overcome a fine effort from St. Petersburg pitcher Billy Cardwell to win, 6-4, at Billy Mathews Field. Cardwell went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. With this game in the books, Houston is 62-76, St. Petersburg 26-112.

Todd Frank hit a run-scoring triple off Jean-Pierre Barreau in the top of the 13th, which put the Sting in front, 5-4. In addition to the triple, Frank had 1 single and 2 walks, while going 2 for 5.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Frank told the Houston Observer. "But we take nothing for granted."
