The Hazleton Birdwings had to overcome a big game from Brisbane center fielder Cesar Vargas to leave Road Warriors Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 5-4. Vargas was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. The 4th-place Bush Wackers have lost 5 consecutive games.

Seth Olson was the walk-off hero for Hazleton. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Birdwings third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
