Apples 6-2 Victors Over Charleston
|
The Carmel Apples stopped the Charleston Panthers, 6-2, at BLM Stadium. The Apples got a big game from Eugene Holden, who was 1-2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Carmel reliever Kyle Ott picked up the win to move to 3-5. Travis Hart suffered the loss. Carmel now sports a record of 82-40.
The Apples got a big at-bat from shortstop Raul Altamirano. For the game, Altamirano went 2 for 5 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 13th double of the season gave Carmel a 2-1 lead.
"It was a solid team effort," Holden said. "That's usually what it takes to win."
