Saints K-O Lake Monsters, 4-0
|
The St. Paul Saints got a marvelous performance from pitcher Alex Ruiz. The right-hander kept the Okanagan offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-0 St. Paul victory at Saints Ballpark. In 6 innings, Ruiz surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 5. He allowed no runs. St. Paul is now 61-81, while Okanagan is 92-51.
Mehmet Mauduit had a big 2-run home run for the Saints in the bottom of the third inning. With St. Paul leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Joe White and swatted a home run to left. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Saints ahead, 3-0.
"Felt great, felt really good," said Ruiz.
