Apples Cut Down Bush Wackers, 6-3
The Carmel Apples dealt the Brisbane Bush Wackers a 6-3 loss at Baylor Ballpark. Trevor Russo was the star on offense. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Antonio Diaz earned the win to go to 6-6. He allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts in 5 innings of work. Carmel improves to 89-57 with the win. They lead their division by 14½ games.

Carmel used a clutch at-bat from Allen Spoto to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Apples ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Carmel manager Dale Spain called it "a good, solid win."
