Brisbane Loss Tarnishes Fine Game by Valle
|
The West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws had to overcome a big game from Brisbane designated hitter Alfonso Valle to leave The Rain Forest with a victory. And they did, winning, 8-5. Valle went 4-4 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. Brian Brindisi picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-4 on the season. He struck out 4 and walked 2 in 5.1 innings, while yielding 4 runs. The Dancin' Outlaws, at 74-51, have now won 4 straight.
The Dancin' Outlaws got a big boost from catcher Josh Neubauer who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Bush Wackers hurler Luis Calderon. It was his 56th walk of the season and put West Virginia on top, 1-0.
"It's nice to see a lot of guys make contributions," said Dancin' Outlaws manager Guy de Kleijn.
