The bats were silent much of the day at The Barn. But 24-year old left fielder Cruz Martinez produced just enough offense to carry the Saints past the Memphis Blues, 3-0. Martinez was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Rodolfo Zepeda earned the win to go to 5-6. He allowed no runs on 6 hits, with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts in 5 innings of work. Ed Cruz closed the game out for St. Paul, earning his 26th save.

Martinez had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a first pitch splitter from Arturo Alvarez, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Saints a 3-0 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Martinez.

"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Martinez. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."

St. Paul occupies 5th place in the TML HA Dick Williams Division at 53-92.
