St. Petersburg turned a good effort from starter Ivan Guido into a win over the Kingwood Knights at Billy Mathews Field. The final score was 1-0. St. Petersburg reliever Antonio Ponce was the winner. His record is now 5-10. Jeff Stephens took the loss. St. Petersburg, with the win, climbs to 36-89.

The decisive blow was delivered by Steven Carson in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 18-year old right-handed pitcher Jeff Stephens to win the game for St. Petersburg. The home crowd went nuts.

"Our pitching was the difference tonight," Guido said.
