The performance of Ricardo Gonzales proved critical in helping Kingwood beat Brisbane, 15-5. The Knights center fielder went 3 for 6 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 5. Ricky Morales picked up the win, improving his season record to 8-8. He struck out 7 in 5.2 innings. Antonio Adame closed the door for Kingwood, picking up his 1st save of the year.

Kingwood won the game in part because of Jimmy DeFranco. The left fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Knights ahead, 6-3. For the game, DeFranco had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Gonzales. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."

The third-place Knights now have a record of 64-63.
