Josh Roby was superb against Brownsville. The right-hander, who is tied for 7th in the TA with a 4.01 ERA, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Vikings victory. The score was 9-8. Mike Fields, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. The Vikings have an impressive 79-50 record.

Theodore McGillis had a big grand slam home run for the Vikings in the bottom of the third inning. With Victoria leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Yukimasa Kobayashi and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 20th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Vikings ahead, 7-2.

"Josh was able to execute his pitches," said Victoria manager Jim Edwards. "Simple as that."
