In a low-scoring contest between the Houston Sting and the Niagara Falls Barrels, 20-year old right-handed pitcher Danny Umanzor proved to be the difference. The Houston right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Sting win. Houston reliever Danny Umanzor got the win, raising his record to 3-4. Keith Brennan was tagged with the loss. The Sting, now 54-76, have won 4 in a row.

Houston needed the clutch hitting of Jorge Lozada to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sting on top, 3-1. For the game, Lozada had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.

"We're in a rut," said Niagara Falls manager Ewan Pethick.
