The Eureka Hornets picked up a win at The Nest, knocking off the Buffalo Bison, 5-3. Starting pitcher Jonathan Ortiz played a key role in the triumph. Eureka, at 39-26, is 4 games up in the Roberto Clemente League Central Division.

In the bottom of the 5th, Eureka took the lead on a 2-run single by Josh Sweet. At the time, the Hornets were trailing 3-2, but Sweet's hit with two outs against Buffalo pitcher Jason Goodrich put them in front, 4-3.

"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Sweet after the game.
