Knights Tag Gnats with 5-2 Loss
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Nichols Gnats take on the Kingwood Knights.
Pat Robb was a major contributor to the 5-2 Kingwood win over Nichols. The Knights right fielder was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Kingwood, at 79-73, holds down 4th place in the TML HA Dick Williams Division.
The Knights got a big at-bat from catcher Salvador Guzman. For the game, Guzman went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 26th home run of the season gave Kingwood a 3-2 lead.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Guzman told the Kingwood Today.
