Apples Find a Way to Win
|
The Carmel Apples and Brownsville Bandits duked it out at Bandits Grove.
The timely hitting of Allen Spoto helped the Carmel Apples take down the Brownsville Bandits, 4-3, in 12 innings. Spoto was 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Apples. Carmel leads the RCL HA Tommy Lasorda Division by 14½ games.
Carmel used the timely hitting of Mike Baugh to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Apples on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I'm glad this one's going in the books as a 'W'," Spoto said.
