The Eugene Emeralds easily defeated the Houston Sting, 17-4, at Prefontaine Park, with second baseman Doug Swain a main contributor to the win. He belted 2 home runs. He scored 4 runs and drove in 5 for Eugene. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Emeralds.

Swain had a key at-bat for Eugene in the bottom of the first. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave Eugene an early 3-0 lead.

"You start putting runs on the board and winning, everyone's going to get excited," said Swain.
