The El Paso Mavericks beat the Maple Marauders, 4-3. El Paso pitcher and Easthampton, Massachusetts, native Billy Dionne led the way. The 4th-place Mavericks have won 4 straight.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when catcher Steve Montgomery hit a solo home run. The Mavericks went on to win.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Dionne. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
