Carmel Pockets 5-3 Win Over Brownsville
|
The Carmel Apples picked up a win at BLM Stadium, topping the Brownsville Bandits, 5-3. On the mound for Carmel was right-hander Tetsuhiro Nitta. He played a principal role in the triumph. Carmel reliever Tetsuhiro Nitta got the win, raising his record to 9-7. Esteban Altamirano was tagged with the loss. With the win over Brownsville, the Apples improved to 82-73.
Ben Aldridge, who is tied for 8th in the RHA in home runs with 32, took Brownsville hurler Esteban Altamirano deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Apples on top, 2-1. In all, Aldridge had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Nitta.
