Bush Wackers Drop Pelicans, 3-2
|
The Brisbane Bush Wackers eked out a 3-2 win versus the St. Petersburg Pelicans at Baylor Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Miguel Garcia. He was terrific. Oliver Price closed it out for Brisbane, earning his 23rd save. St. Petersburg has now lost 4 straight.
In the bottom of the fifth, John Leydig delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Brisbane right fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the Bush Wackers in front, 3-2.
Leydig told reporters after the game: "Runs were scarce, so we had to work hard to get the W."
