Earthquakes Turn Back Mounties, 6-5
|
Getting a good performance from center fielder Dylan Robertson, the San Francisco Earthquakes defeated the Montreal Mounties, 6-5. Robertson was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs for the Earthquakes. Jerry Fey earned the win for San Francisco. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 5-3. Dakson Rocket got credit for the save for San Francisco. It was his 16th of the year.
In the top of the sixth, with the game tied, the Mounties allowed the Earthquakes to take a 5-3 lead on a base hit and Montreal error.
In comments to the San Francisco Daily, Robertson admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
The Earthquakes now have a record of 32-36.
