Crowds lined up early in front of Moose Head Stadium, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2064 ROOKIE LEAGUE season. On the mound was Antonio Enriquez for the visiting Frobisher Bay Caribou and Nobuaki Matsushima for the hometown Manchester Mooses. In a spirited contest, the Caribou pulled out the win, defeating the Mooses by the score of 4-3. Especially impressive was Nobuaki Matsushima. Tomas Rodriguez earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 3 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Marco Trujillo closed the game out for Frobisher Bay, earning his 1st save.

Jose Mendez had a direct impact on the outcome. Mendez contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Frobisher Bay up, 4-3.

"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Manchester manager Rodney Beam.
