The Queen was the site of the home opener for the The Stinging Larvae. The contest featured a prime matchup between Francisco Estrada of the visiting Wichita Storm and Moises Gutierrez of the Larvae. The final score was 13-12, the Storm getting the win. Victor Saenz turned in the best performance. The win went to Danny Serna in relief, making him now 1-0. Roberto Moreno took the loss for The Stinging. Jon Barajas closed the door for Wichita, picking up his 1st save of the year.

Jose Montano came through with a big-time hit for Wichita. The center fielder smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 13-12. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Both teams had plenty of clutch hits," said Montano. "It made for an exciting game."
